Is there a best Aliens: Fireteam Elite 2 build?
No verified S-tier. Builds are Campaign vs Horde vs difficulty vs whether Specialist parts are unlocked. Cover trash, elites, control, and rescue. Ignore fake clear-rate percents.
Aliens: Fireteam Elite 2 builds: Campaign vs Horde kits. Cover trash, elites, control, rescue. No fake S-tier — rank a base class before Specialist.
Campaign vs Horde kits — no fake S-tier.

Aliens: Fireteam Elite 2 builds are scene kits, not a global S-tier. Split Campaign (mission preview + biome on LV-558) from Horde (wave hold + Challenge Cards). Cover four jobs — trash, elites, control, rescue — with the six classes and, later, Specialist mixes. Cold Iron Studios / Daybreak Game Company showed Gunfighter, Paladin, Grenadier, and Elementalist as role templates, not a ranked ladder. Verified August 26, 2026 · Steam store.

A Aliens: Fireteam Elite 2 kit is four jobs on one Marine plus three teammates. If nobody owns rescue, the down stays on the floor. If nobody owns elites, a Warden or Bulwark eats the hold. AI fill (Alpha mid, Beta long, Gamma shotgun) is extra guns, not extra kit abilities — bots will not plant your Trauma Station or import Specialist parts.
| Job | Base-class owners | Specialist template (shown) | Hole if nobody does it |
|---|---|---|---|
| Trash / hive pressure | Marauder · Duelist Fragment / Cluster | Grenadier (lane saturate) | Runners reach the backline |
| Elites / armor / weak points | Hunter · Duelist Precision · piercing ammo | Elementalist railgun fork | Warden / Bulwark owns the door |
| Control (Cryo / Electric / stasis) | Hunter Particle / Stasis · Cryo ammo | Elementalist Cryo Pulse | Swarm never stops moving |
| Lane hold / extra gun | Machinist sentry + Bodyguard | Gunfighter drone while you shoot | You rotate and the door is empty |
| Rescue / stim window | Medic Trauma Station + Bedside Manner | Paladin (Blast Cannon + Trauma Station) | Down spectates the next Siren |
Four Marauders is a legal Fireteam and still a rescue hole. Two Duelists plus AI fill can clear Standard and still fail Intense when nobody picks up. Pick the job the briefing or the Horde card makes expensive. Named “best class builds” that ignore the hole are just a load-screen.
Incendiary vs Xenomorphs, Electric for stun, Cryo to hold, Piercing vs Synths / plates. Morphic stays TBA. A Smartgun with the wrong element is still the wrong kit. Pack the magazine on the Endeavor from the enemy preview — elements owns the chart; this page only needs you to stop treating ammo as cosmetic.
Campaign and Horde ask those jobs on different clocks. That is the split.
Campaign is a briefing you can load for: about 15 missions, four biomes, Endeavor hub. Horde is a hold: escalating waves, Challenge Cards that all apply, three launch maps, factions that can rotate. The six class names do not change. The job mix and the ammo clock do.

| Need | Campaign kit bias | Horde kit bias |
|---|---|---|
| Trash | Marauder for hive corridors; Duelist Cluster if you want rifles | Marauder or Grenadier — cards can add density |
| Elites / armor | Hunter if the preview shows plates / Synths | Keep a piercing option even if this wave is Xenos — pools rotate |
| Control | Cryo / Electric on the briefing faction | Cryo Pulse / stasis on the door for every wave |
| Rescue | Medic if your group already wipes | Medic or Paladin — downs during a five-wave set are longer |
| Hold gun | Optional (linear push) | Machinist sentry — lane that does not walk off; no FF on the turret |
| Ammo clock | Restock crates on a linear route | Hold on the box; limited supply on high difficulty |
| Explosives | Fine on Casual / Standard | One explosive Signature max once friendly fire is on |
If the card shows Xenomorphs, Incendiary plus a trash kit is the starting rule. If Synths / heavy plates show, Hunter or piercing ammo belongs on someone. Pathogen packs still want a pin answer (Harbinger) and control. Full mission names stay TBA on missions — do not invent a 15-row “best build per mission” list.
Blacksite, Crash Landed, and Crusher ask you to hold, not to speedrun a biome. Machinist’s sentry is a lane. Challenge Cards all apply — a card that buffs explosives makes Grenadier brilliant or a wipe. Keep piercing in the Fireteam because Synth waves can rotate in. Layouts and ammo-box counts stay TBA on horde.
The next table picks a class for a scene. It is not a rank.
Situation → kit. This is the mid-page click. It does not repeat the roster — it names who walks onto the drop. If two rows conflict, cover rescue first, then elites, then trash.
| Situation | Bring | Pair with | Do not |
|---|---|---|---|
| New to the series / first Campaign clear | Duelist (two primaries, least extra UI) | Medic if the group already downs | Start Specialist |
| Solo + Alpha / Beta / Gamma | Machinist (sentry + drone) | Hunter if you still need a weak-point gun | Grenadier — bots stand in rockets |
| Hive corridors, Xenomorph preview | Marauder + Incendiary | Someone on Siren duty | Ignore Intense+ friendly fire |
| Synth / plated briefing | Hunter + Piercing (Djinn / weak-point) | Duelist Precision as a second elite gun | Four flamethrowers |
| Group already fails on downs | Medic (Bedside Manner 2× revive) | Any DPS that will actually pick up | Skip “because healers are boring” |
| Horde hold, first map | Machinist on the door | Medic or Paladin for the collapse | Three heavies, no pickup |
| Horde + explosive Challenge Cards | Machinist or Hunter (control, less FF) | One Marauder max | Grenadier + M12A1 + UGL on one Marine |
| Extreme / Insane gunline | Hunter or Medic; Machinist turret | Crouched Duelist Pulse | Standing Smartgun over a teammate’s back |
| Parts unlocked, Fireteam still missing a job | Specialist hybrid that imports that job | The base class you have not finished ranking | Copy a nickname as an S-tier |
Duelist (ex-Gunner) is the teaching rifle kit: two primary slots, Stay on Target while you keep hitting. Medic (ex-Doc) is insurance: Trauma Station, Combat Stims, Bedside Manner. Neither is a verified “best class build.” They are the kits that still work when the Fireteam is learning crates.
Duelist — Campaign teacher; Horde as a second rifle if Machinist already owns the door. Marauder — Campaign hive rooms; Horde density cards; Insane only after the squad crouches. Machinist — solo and Horde holds; sentry is the no-FF gun. Hunter — Synth / elite briefings; Horde armor waves; Insane control without filling the doorway with splash. Medic — any scene where downs already happen; Horde five-wave collapses. Specialist — after parts exist, to patch the hole the four-stack still has.
Blast Cannon and Titan Rockets clear packs and cook teammates. Crouch the front Marine. Machinist sentries are the no-FF hold. Hunter control (Cryo Pulse, Stasis / Arc Bolt) makes elites hittable without filling the doorway with explosives. If the scene is Insane, the “fun” explosive kit is the wrong kit until the squad already calls lanes.

Empty seats fill with Alpha (mid), Beta (long), and Gamma (shotgun). Bots are extra magazines, not extra kit abilities. A solo Aliens: Fireteam Elite 2 build still has to cover trash and a panic heal — Gamma will not plant Trauma Station, and nobody imports Specialist parts for you.
| Solo situation | Your kit | Let bots… | Do not |
|---|---|---|---|
| Learning Campaign | Duelist or Medic | Hold extra angles | Start Specialist |
| Want a door that stays put | Machinist sentry + drone | Shoot whatever walks the lane | Assume they restock your turret |
| Hive corridors | Marauder, Standard / Intense | Stay out of the rocket cone | Insane Grenadier with three bots in the splash |
| Synth briefing | Hunter + piercing | Beta on long plates if the fill cooperates | Four thermal guns |
| Downs already happen | Medic — you are the pickup | Keep shooting while you revive | Chase a Warden and leave the pile |
Specialist is fed by source-class progress. Scatter one mission on each kit and the hybrid board stays empty. Push the job you actually play until abilities and replacers show, then import. Full path: specialist.
Specialist is the sixth kit and the long-term mix: Major / Minor abilities, modifiers, Perks, and guns imported from the five base classes. Developer-shown nicknames — Gunfighter, Paladin, Grenadier, Elementalist — are jobs. They are not an S-tier. Slot counts and Signature legality stay TBA.

| Hybrid (shown) | Job | Use when | Skip when |
|---|---|---|---|
| Gunfighter | Rifles + Bodyguard drone | You want Duelist guns without giving up a Bodyguard drone | The Fireteam already has two Duelists and no rescue |
| Paladin | Blast Cannon + Trauma Station + Smartgun | Nobody brought Medic and you still need CC | Insane and the squad will not crouch for the cannon |
| Grenadier | Titan Rockets + cluster + UGL Pulse | Horde lane greed on Casual / Standard | Extreme / Insane until lanes are called |
| Elementalist | Cryo Pulse + electric stims + flame / rail / incendiary pistol | Horde factions rotate or the briefing mixes types | You have not unlocked Cryo and piercing parts yet |
Abilities and replacers unlock on Duelist, Marauder, Machinist, Hunter, and Medic first. A level-10 Medic is the official example that a whole kit can transfer. Sitting on Specialist on mission one is an empty board. Rank the role the Fireteam lacks, import it, then switch.
Paladin’s Blast Cannon and Grenadier’s rockets are the two showcase tools most likely to delete a crouched teammate once difficulty turns friendly fire on. Elementalist is the kit that makes the ammo chart mandatory. Gunfighter is the least explosive of the four — still not a ranked winner.

This wiki will not print a global S-tier, a fake clear-rate percent, or a DPS winner. Value depends on Campaign vs Horde, the briefing faction, the difficulty slider, and whether Specialist parts are unlocked. Named kits without a version stamp stay off the page.
| Claim you will see | What this wiki prints | Why |
|---|---|---|
| “Best build” with a percent | Nothing — no verified S-tier % | No public clear-rate sheet |
| One class ranked S for everything | Scene table above | Horde hold ≠ linear Campaign |
| Specialist on mission one | Start a base class | The mix pool is empty |
| Four identical heavies | Cover four jobs | Rescue and elites go missing |
| Copied Perk Grid from a leak | TBA until captured | 42 cells is community-reported; cell map unverified |
| Infinite-sidearm “removed” rumor | Sidearm is still infinite in official materials | Pre-launch speculation is not the live kit |
| Planner as a validator | Build planner is a noindex notepad | It will not catch friendly fire |
The noindex build planner exists so you can jot Major / Minor ideas. It does not validate slot conflicts, Signature legality, or whether a Grenadier mix will cook the Marine in front. Use it after you can name the scene.
A scene kit without a class, a gun, or a slider is a nickname.
| You still need | Go here | Why |
|---|---|---|
| Which of the six names to rank first | Classes | Base kits feed Specialist; no fake best class |
| How to import Major / Minor parts | Specialist | Unlock path and the four shown hybrids |
| Blacksite / Crash Landed / Crusher holds | Horde | Cards and rotating factions change the kit |
| Friendly fire on Extreme / Insane | Difficulty | Explosive builds become squad weapons |
| Pulse vs Smartgun vs Djinn | Weapons | The gun is part of the kit; DPS stays TBA |
If the briefing is Xenomorphs, a trash kit plus Incendiary is the starting rule. If Synths show, piercing belongs on someone. If downs pile up, Medic is the kit. Come back when the Horde card or the slider changes — not when a list invents an S-tier.
No verified S-tier. Builds are Campaign vs Horde vs difficulty vs whether Specialist parts are unlocked. Cover trash, elites, control, and rescue. Ignore fake clear-rate percents.
Duelist if you want to shoot. Medic if your group already goes down. Machinist if you mostly play solo with AI fill. Do not start Specialist.
Campaign follows the enemy preview and a linear ammo clock. Horde is a door: Machinist sentry, Challenge Cards that all apply, and a piercing option because factions can rotate.
Not until the Fireteam already crouches and calls lanes. Titan Rockets plus cluster plus underbarrel grenades are a wipe factory once abilities can hit allies.
No. They are developer-shown Specialist templates for different jobs. Paladin patches a missing Medic. Gunfighter is rifles plus a drone. Neither is an S-tier.
A noindex stub lives at build planner. It is a notepad until slot conflicts are captured. It will not validate friendly fire.
No. The five base classes are complete kits. Specialist is the mix you earn. A ranked Marauder or Medic beats an empty hybrid board.
Lock a source class on classes, import parts on specialist, then respect difficulty if the kit explodes.
